<p>Pleasure meeting you all. Thank you for allowing me to be part of  The Aberdeen Marina Club as the new Executive Assistant Manager – Food &amp; Beverage.</p>
<p>I was born in Alba, the city of the white truffle, where food and wine is life. Between the Barolo and Barbaresco vineyards, my home is situated in the Roero area, and I started at very young age to fall in love with what today is my life. Food and Beverage is not a job, but passion and what I love, as it helps in discovering new cultures and ensures the creation of memorable experiences that will keep my family happy and joyful.</p>
<p>With almost 20 years in the industry, I hope to indulge you in our new promotions and projects happening in the near future.</p>
<p>Stay tuned and looking forward to personally meet you all.</p>

<p>There comes a time for all restaurants when the doors have to be closed and reopened to reveal a new dining experience.</p>
<p>Year after year, day after day, morning to evening – It is time for The Deck’s makeover, which starts with its closure on June 17. As this is not surprise enough, Balcony will go thru soft renovation starting on June 1.</p>
<p>For all those who already miss their favourite Thai dishes, please stop by before and if desired, join Chef Pachuen’s Thai Buffet Dinner on May 17.<br />

<p>At slightly more relaxed pace, I am pleased to welcome back Yoga Classes to the Club. Yoga provides a unique platform to integrate the mind, body and spirit by engaging in a series of poses to help the body realign, strengthen, stretch, detox and relieve stress.</p>
<p>The Club is offering a variety of classes to help stimulate and revitalise you. All classes are suitable for both beginners and regular practitioners as a variety of adjustments will be offered. The classes below will commence on Monday, April 22.</p>
<p>Monday: 8.30-9.30am Power Flow A fun, strong, flowing practice, with a combination of strengthening poses, core work, challenging balances and deep stretches, this session will leave you ready to start your week feeling grounded but empowered.</p>
<p>Wednesday: 8.30-9.30am Detox Flow This session uses a flowing sequence, primarily of twists to assist the body in clearing out the toxins that can build up from living the urban, fast-paced lifestyle.</p>
<p>Friday: 8.30-9.30am Yin Yang This practice offers a gentle flow with longer holds in passive yin stretches. Such a practice encourages us to release into a deeper alignment, not just physically, but also mentally, emotionally and spiritually.</p>

</strong>We can now proudly look back on an interactive wine dinner with Ms Melanie Tesseron, owner of Château Pontet-Canet. The exquisite wine savoured has its origin in Pauillac, Bordeaux, home of some of the most exquisite wines in the world.</p>
<p>It was a night of fine wines, great food and overall an enjoyable casual gathering of wine lovers and the one who has mastered it. In a unique atmosphere, Ms Tesseron took our members behind the walls of Château Pontet-Canet and shared her wine expertise.</p>

Guest Chef Michel Del Burgo – A Master of his Trade</strong><br />
For one week, The Dining Room was home to Guest Chef Michel Del Burgo and his contemporary French creations. Some of you might have known him from L’ATELIER de Joel Robuchon where he was leading the kitchen from 2010 to 2012, while others might have tasted his creations for the first time. In any case, many of you took the chance to meet him, and hopefully some of you were able to elicit one of his culinary secrets; I have tried!</p>

All New Tropical Pool Café</strong><br />
Summer is coming and with it an all new Tropical Pool Café.  As much as we can reveal at the moment is that an exciting new menu will make your days at the poolside and the new outdoor seating area even more enjoyable. But there is more; join us for a relaxing weekend at the pool and experience an additional service that will be implemented this summer.</p>

<p><strong>Kids on 8 – Improvement Works<br />
</strong>From March 4 we will close off part of Kids on 8 for a programme of improvement works. There will be no access to the castle, jeep, kids’ cove, pirate ship and forest climbing zone. We are planning a new construction theme area which will be completed in 4-5 weeks. We look forward to this new addition to Kids on 8 and apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.</p>

<p>We are looking back to a successful start of the New Year with a fine feast at Horizon during the Chinese New Year holiday and a culinary journey to Myanmar at Balcony. The treats were prepared by our guest chefs from<em><strong><a href="http://www.tradershotels.com/yangon"> Traders Hotel Yangon </a></strong></em>and I hope some of you had the chance to meet them and savour the flavours of Myanmar. My personal highlight was the delicious seafood salad.</p>

Arriving in Hong Kong to take over the restaurant Atelier Joel Robuchon from 2010 to 2012, he headed back to France to open the restaurant Michel Del Burgo in a five star hotel in Carcassonne. <p>I am pleased to inform you that our renovation at the North Shore Tennis Court is now complete. As you can see from the pictures, the courts look fantastic after the resurfacing work.</p>

<p>We will have the privilege to welcome M. Francois Bourgon, Cheese Master 2011 MOF (best craftsman in France), on January 23 at The Dining Room.</p>
<p>Francois got the passion for the cheese when he was five years old, going with his father to collect butter, cream and cheese where Comte cheese have been made since the 12th century. You might be asking yourself why we need a Cheese Master. The answer is very simple – to ensure that the long journey between the moment you milk the animal (cow, goat, sheep) and the cheese that is served on your table is complete.</p>

<p>Estoublon Olive Oil</p>
<p>Estoublon Olive Oil, an exceptional oil from the South of France will soon arrive at Marina Deli. I recommend to use this olive oil for seasoning your salads, on your fish and meat. Please do not use it for cooking. Come and try it in the Dining Room where we will be able to offer a few dishes with the different type of olive oils that the castle can offer.</p>

<p>At chateau d&#8217;Estoublon the olive are jewels, picked when fully ripe so the oil produced will have its trademark flavour of red fruits. It has a clean, golden colour with hints of green spiciness. Its aroma is full of ripe fruit with a smooth texture on the palate. Limited amounts are produced as most of the harvest is taken to make the AOC blend.</p>

<p>HAPPY NEW YEAR!<br />
I wish all of you a prosperous year of the snake.</p>
<p>A big thank you to all of those who were at the New Year’s Eve Gala Dinner in the Grand Ballroom. It was an action-packed night full of fun and artistic entertainment hosted by MC Oliver de Molina. Indeed a night to remember with an exclusive eight-course menu created by our executive chef for this special night. We are looking forward to welcoming you to another extravagant event at the end of this year. </p>
<p>With every New Year, more culinary treats are waiting to be savoured.</p>

<p>Swiss Chalet at The Private Deck<br />
By popular demand, our cosy little corner of Switzerland with its authentic recipes continues until the end of January. In addition to our signature dishes such as the cheese fondue, beef fondue and melted Racelette cheese we offer now some Swiss original desserts.</p>
<p>The Swiss Chalet is open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday for dinner.</p>

<p>Korean favourites at The Deck<br />
“Bibimbap” literally means “mixed rice” and it is one of Korea’s most famous dishes.  A bowl of warm white rice topped with your personal choice of sautéed vegetables, chili pepper paste, a raw or fried egg and if desired, sliced meat.</p>
<p>This Korean speciality will be available every day with the lunch and dinner buffet throughout February.</p>
