About the Speaker
Renée Boey is an educator, school founder and experienced university admissions counselor whose work spans elite universities, independent schools, and innovative education models in Hong Kong and beyond. A graduate of St. Paul’s School (US) and Harvard University, Renée later earned an MPhil in Renaissance Literature from the University of Cambridge, an MFA in Writing, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from the University of Hong Kong. She has served on the Board of the Harvard Club of Hong Kong, chaired the Harvard Book Prize, and continues to advise the Harvard Club of Hong Kong Education Foundation. Her professional experience includes teaching English and Humanities, advising schools and supporting families navigating highly competitive admissions pathways.

Drawing on more than a decade of work with students and families, Renée founded Baker & Bloom, a K–12 education centre focused on cultivating creativity, strong literacy, academic excellence and purposeful learning beyond the classroom. Her work in admissions counselling and after-school education led her to question traditional, exam-driven models of schooling, inspiring her to found Bloom KKCA Academy and Saint Too Bloom Academy, bilingual project-based schools designed to prepare students for an uncertain and rapidly evolving future. As Founder and Head of School, Renée leads Bloom’s mission to integrate academic rigour with wellbeing, bilingual and multicultural learning, and real-world innovation.
